Incremental Auth for POS

With this update, merchants using Gateway-powered terminals can utilize Incremental Auth. This feature allows merchants to increase the amount initially authorized in a Pre-Auth. They can add up to five incremental auth, where each increment will be added to the original Pre-Auth amount.

Note:

  • This feature is currently limited to merchants using TSYS and Fiserv North processors.

  • Only Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are accepted for this transaction. American Express is not currently supported.

How to Use:

First, you must make a pre-auth transaction. To do this,

  • Tap on the menu button from the top left corner of the screen and choose pre-auth.

  • Enter the amount. Then, click OK.

  • Next, the customer can scan, or manually enter their card details to complete the pre-auth transaction.

To make an incremental auth:

  • Tap on the menu button from the top left corner of the screen.

  • Choose Ticket/INC AUTH.

  • Select a transaction

  • Choose INC AUTH to confirm.

  • Enter the amount you wish to add to the pre-auth transaction and click OK.

  • The transaction is now complete and it will be reflected as a separate transaction in the Transactions module.

  • Please note that if you void a pre-auth transaction, the incremental auth amount will also be reflected as Void in the Transactions module.
